I'm back from my months-long hiatus, and I'll post a longer entry later, but for now, I have just this to say: Remember Aaron Hall.

I just found the Cool Bits Story Generator. ZOMG so cool. I especially love this story summary it gave me:

The hero of this story is a woman in men's clothing who has a long coat a little too long in the sleeves. On the way to the story's conclusion the hero encounters a person so reserved just the touch of a hand speaks volumes. This person has a collar. Plot elements include sex somewhere that might be overheard and a sort-of family of broken people who are less broken around each other.

And the thing is, that could be an awesome story, y/n?

Year Zero fun
This has already been discovered by the NIN forums and the Year Zero Wiki, but it's still really cool.

A heat-sensitive CD! Five thumbnails under cut.Collapse )

I also got the Hellogoodbye album (Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!), just because.

P.S. - If anyone is interested in the sorta-MMORPG-type Kingdom of Loathing but don't want to commit to an account until you know if you like it or not, comment here or email me or something and I'll give you the username and password to my alt account, because KoL is an awesome game and everyone should play it <3

You all know my on-and-off obsession with Kingdom of Loathing, right? Well, I got around to naming all of the familiars I've collected so far (I have 21 out of a possible 25 - 30, once I have access to certain in-game areas.) Then I decided that I should share the names I decided on with others, so, lucky you! Screencaps under cut.

In which there are a few SGA references, and evidence of my ADD is definitely apparent.Collapse )

So, there are all my familiars. If you want to know more about any of them, what they do, or what they reference, go here to find out all about them. If you're interested in Kingdom of Loathing, go ahead and create an account - it doesn't cost anything, and they won't bug you and keep sending emails if you decide you don't like it. If you decide you do like it, on the other hand, send me a message in-game (I'm Jayme, #1078026), and I'll send you some Meat and Booze to celebrate! Talk to you all later!

I swear I'm not dead, really.
I realize that I haven't posted on here for nearly two months (RL has been kicking my face in, srsly), so to make up for it, here are three of my favorite songs from NIN's Things Falling Apart. Speaking of NIN! Their new CD (Year Zero) is coming out soon - listen to some "leaked" tracks here (and ooh, the vid for Survivalism! Yay! *watches* ...Wow. The amount of awesome this video contains deserves a post of its own - maybe tomorrow.) The links to the left of the site are for following the viral marketing mystery NIN's doing for the release of Year Zero, in case you were wondering (hence the quotations around leaked - it's widely suspected that NIN's behind the leaks.) Also, Beside You In Time, their newest DVD, has apparently been out for some time and I just totally missed hearing about it - I managed to reserve a copy of it at the sale price, though, and I'll be picking it up next weekend when I head back to Athens, so squee about that!

And I think that's enough fangirling over Nine Inch Nails for today, so I will talk to all of you wonderful people later!

(Oh, and happy birthday Garland, o wonderful sister of mine!! *smooches*)

So. I got an email from the 99x studios today informing me that I can go see the Ataris on Monday at 1:45 at their studios. I can also bring a guest. I'm pretty sure that anyone who this applies to is already on Facebook where I wrote a note, but... whatever.

AFI is playing on Saturday Night Live on January 20th!!! Woohoo! I can't wait!

Finally read Good Omens - that book was better than I'd thought it would be!

Got my books for my classes (finally...) I still have to sign up for one more class, but I can get the books for that later.

Oh, and I have a youtube account, too - you can find it here, for those who are interested. Since I recorded the videos on my digital camera and my camera uses .mov format (I think that's the reason, at least), the sound becomes progressively unsynched as the vids go on. However, you can still tell pretty clearly who's talking where, so... go and comment! Because I am a lonely, lonely girl, and right now I'm just happy that one of the vids has been seen 25 times. Comments will make my day.

Last thing - I'm coming back to Athens tomorrow. Just to let ya'll know. And... I think that's it for this entry!

And yes, I'm alive. I had wisdom teeth surgery on the 28th, which sucked, but at least it's behind me now! And I do have 8 o'clock classes this semester, but at least it's only 2 days a week! So maybe this semester won't go as badly as last semester went?

Oh, and guess how many classes I have on Tuesday and Thursday? One. Starting at 2 and going to 3:15. And it's World Civ, which I actually like! Yeah, I slept until 11 today.

So. AFI was in Atlanta tonight. And I couldn't go. I feel incredibly depressed now.

Getting back into Kingdom of Loathing - if anyone's on there, let me know and I'll find you in Chat sometime.

Anyone want to come to Gwinnett with me Friday?... Anybody?... I'll be by Athens beforehand, so I can give rides...

Music Theory Lab finals are going to suck tomorrow, considering I haven't practiced nearly as much as I should have... 5 hours and counting, woe!

ETA: Oh no they didn't.

9:52 pm
So, who's going to the I Heard a Voice screening a week from now? XDDDDDDDDDD And I think that my mom thinks I'm going even more depressed or anti-social or something, because she's encouraging me to take a friend with me, and let her stay the night with us in Athens. So, I think I'll invite Rosie (Music Education major, plays violin in the string ensemble, shares all my classes but one), because she's only been to Athens twice and never even been downtown (GASP SHOCK HERESY.) So if she takes me up on my offer, I'll show her around Athens (the Arches, downtown, the Grill, etc). So. I shall see all that live in Athens next weekend!

Also, my sleeping habits are messed up forevermore. Going to take a nap now... And then get up in a couple of hours to take my shower (maybe - might wait until early morning), then take more naps (if I can get to sleep) interspersed with checking my email. Yes, it's that bad.

First of all, I'd like to thank Garland ohsomuchlys for the amazing icons. You can see all of them in my userpics (I switched to the Plus account level just so I would have room to host all of them on lj). They're based off of this meme. Thank you, Garland! You can find her icon journal at gar_graphics.

Rambling about AFI (RL friends/family that haven't gotten me a gift yet might want to take a look)Collapse )

Rambling about my jury and the piece I'll be playingCollapse )

Ugh, nosebleeds. Don't read if you squick easily at blood, not that I think any of you do. Also, pretty much only members of my family will care about this.Collapse )

The air conditioning system in Napier is broken. And the temperature in Milledgeville hit the low 70s today. Ugh. It's two days until December, what the hell?

My newer piercings (the ones that I got a month ago) are now... secreting?- this wierd liquid-type stuff that dries on the earring and is generally icky. It doesn't hurt or anything, though, so I'll just make sure to wash them with soap every night and see if it clears up. (Which I'm sure you all wanted to know.)

Also, I saw Theater Major's boyfriend today (Theater Major lives right down the hall). I knew he was gay - he's a theater major, duh - but it's always nice to have confirmation! (Also, TM's boyfriend drives a sweet car. Just sayin'.)

6:30 pm
So. The long form of Love Like Winter was released today, and guess what? The mystery is apparently back on! And just after I got my nifty screen-shot program thingy figured out, too... (FastStone is so totally spiffy - and free, too! [totally not pimping... Just... sharing the goods! Yeah!] The program I'm talking about's the second from the top - the screen capture one. It's remarkably easy to understand, too.)

But, if you're not into the mystery, that's okay - I have another screenshot for you to sporfle over. Silly scuba divers, getting into the frame...

And for those of you who have no freaking idea of what I'm talking about, shame! Go watch Love Like Winter right now, if only to see Davey Havok's OMG!Fake!Eyelashes of DOOM. Srsly, if they keep getting longer like they have, they're going to eat him one day...

Oh, and I almost forgot- go here and comment. For every comment she gets on this entry, her friends will sponsor a certain amount of money to go to Children in Need. Very awesome!

(Oh, and Garland- check your graphics comm comments. *poke*)

So. My last link-pimpage was about online videos. This one is about online comics (following a hard-to-see trend or something? Something like that...) Most, if not all, of these have swearing, partial nudity (chests/boobs, pretty much), violence, etc. One depicts madness/MPD. So, if you're at work or something, don't read them, because... yeah.

My favorites as of right now...Collapse )

I'm always on the lookout for new web-comics, so if you see some you'd think I'd like... *hint, hint*

Tonight was the Mozart Memorial Concert. There were three pieces in all - one sung by the Max Noah singers (I didn't catch the name of the piece), Ave Verum Corpus (performed by the String Quartet and the Max Noah singers), and Requiem, performed by the entire String Ensemble (plus winds and brass) and the University Singers. My parents came to see it - I'll be having breakfast with them tomorrow, before they head back to Athens.

Dr. Snyder's secretaries need to pick up the phone once in a while. Ugh.

Still not quite over the AFI thing. Smith's face being on one of the 7" records definitely helps, though.
See? Priceless.Collapse )
And for those of you who don't know who Smith is- well, Smith is... special. (He's also the manager of AFI, and Jade's half-brother.) Go to Google Video and search for "Smith in Paris" - you'll see what I mean. (Some language, but not really bad.)

And now, to finish off this excellent night with a cup of hot chocolate!

11:59 pm
Saw my parents today (for Parent's Day) - my mom confirmed what I had feared, that they will not buy me a ticket or condone going to the concert/festival. Which means that if I go, I'll have to go behind their backs. I can't see any way of doing so, though, because I don't have enough money to buy me a ticket, not to mention the best tickets are probably taken by now. Kinda depressed, ya know? I know it seems like such a little thing besides all the crap that's happening to some of you all, but AFI comprises a phenomenally huge part of my life, and to have them be within driving distance of me and me not being able to see them kinda sucks.

A couple of links, because, hey, that's what I do:
Progress Quest is really addictive, and the best part is, you don't have to lift a finger after you start the program! Just go check it out, you'll see what I mean...

The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny is so freaking awesome. The song is so catchy - I was singing it even after watching a concert-worth of AFI videos! The song-writer/singer is the same guy that does the Potter Puppet Pals videos. (Also, the I've Got Some Falling To Do and Bad Idea videos. If you watch Bad Idea, make sure you turn the subtitles on when he's on the mound of bodies during the end..)

Also, while I'm on the subject of videos, check out Tiny Plaid Ninjas. Because tiny plaid ninjas ROCK.

I'm not sure if my mom will let me go to the AFI concert thing or not - she didn't out and say I couldn't go, but she did send me a long email explaining how good good grades are IRL...

(Also, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Brandy for coming back from the e-dead. Because she hasn't been on her lj for, what, a year now? Eight months?)

Guess who's playing at Philips Arena in December? And guess who's going, no matter what? The best part is that December 6th is Reading Day, which I'm pretty sure means no classes!

Also, 'tis freakishly hot for November. Even if it is only the first of November.

So. Got a streak in my hair and another pair of piercings - rings in the second hole of my lobes. I drove Allison and Cory a whole freakload of places, rediscovered the glory of Magic: The Gathering, downloaded an album's worth of music (given to me by a near-total stranger from a forum I frequent), found a new game store, and all in all had some fun times this weekend. How about you all?

ETA: And ZOMG my left piercing will not stop bleeding. Oh well, at least I'll have a lot of bloody paper towels for Halloween? *just grossed out some of you, I know it*
